The Obstmarkt in Cologne is a series of pop-up events where creatives showcase and sell their products in a lively, community-driven atmosphere. More than a market, visitors can enjoy music, drinks, and snacks, making the event a vibrant mix of culture, design, and social gathering.

Challenge

My goal was to give the Obstmarkt a recognizable identity that unifies diverse exhibitors and position the Event as a Pop-up series. Also I needed to create a Social-Media presence to develop community engagement. Not only for event announcements but also for creating a network and bond with the community.

Concept

Instead of presenting a traditional market, Obstmarkt celebrates creativity, individuality, and community.

The brand embraces:

  • Diversity over uniformity

  • Playfulness over formality

  • Community over competition

Execution

Visual Identity
- Developed a complete brand system including logo, color palette, and typography, giving Obstmarkt a sense of freshness, energy, and diversity.
- Color palette: vibrant and dynamic, reflecting the variety and creativity of the exhibitors.
- Typography: balances friendliness with clarity, making the brand approachable and legible across all touchpoints.
- Illustrative elements: playful graphics that represent each exhibitor as a unique fruit within the collective, reinforcing individuality and community.

Applications / Touchpoints
- Campaign and onsite design assets including posters, flyers, merch, badges, and signage.
- Assets were designed to maintain consistency while allowing flexibility for different event editions.

System & Scalability
- Modular design system ensures assets can be adapted for future editions without losing the brands distinctive visual identity.

Result

The Obstmarkt has a strong recognition through every touchpoint. On site, print and digital.

Values are communicated clearly: creativity, community and diversity.

Social Media encourages engagement: visitors and exhibitors are exposed, show their products and create a network.

Obstmarkt is not just an event, it became a platform in the creative scene of cologne.
